Read to Raise is a fundraiser hosted by the San José Public Library Foundation to raise funds for literary arts programs at the San José Public Library (SJPL), including Summer Learning and Winter Learning. Participants can win fun prizes at the end of the Summer.
How it Works
Read to Raise is a read-a-thon fundraiser, participants in SJPL’s Summer Learning can have their reading sponsored by friends or family. For example, a friend can commit to donating $10 for every book read by the participant.

The benefits of Read to Raise include supporting literary arts with the funds raised, motivating readers to read more, and offering a chance to win cool prizes.

Pre-register for Summer Learning starting May 1st, 2025. Read to Raise runs from June 1st to July 31st.

All participants will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win a family 4-pack of regular season tickets to a San José Earthquakes 2025 home game!
The reader with the most funds raised will win a $100 gift card of their choice.
The reader with the most number of donors supporting them will win a $50 gift card of their choice.
