San José Public Library Foundation held a press conference March 10, 2022 to shine a spotlight on the essential role of the San José Public Library in our post-COVID recovery and the imperative of full funding. San Jose Vice Mayor Chappie Jones, City of San José Library and Education Commission, and Friends of the Library joined in support of critical library funding.

One of our very own SJ Aspires students, Jorge, was featured on KDTV- Univision 14. We’re grateful to our corporate partners for these incredible opportunities. Special thanks to IBM for hosting our SJ Aspires students at their AI Tech Camp. San José Aspires enables students in underserved neighborhoods to set goals and chart a path to academic success from 9th grade to graduation by providing a performance-based scholarship program that educates them about college and career choices, as well as individual mentorship and counseling.

Coding 5K Camps are designed to further enhance access to free quality STEAM learning programs for underserved elementary and middle school students. The camps are free to participants and are funded through the San Jose Pubic Library Foundation and their generous donors. Thank you to Apple’s Community Education Initiative for partnering with us!
