How it Works
Read to Raise is a read-a-thon fundraiser hosted by the San José Public Library Foundation to raise funds for literary arts programs at the San José Public Library (SJPL), including Summer Learning and Winter Learning.
Participants in SJPL’s Winter Reading can have their reading sponsored by friends or family. For example, a friend can commit to donating $10 for every book read by the participant.

The benefits of Read to Raise include supporting literary arts with the funds raised, motivating readers to read more, and offering a chance to win cool prizes.

Prizes
A $50 gift card of their choice to AMC Theatres, CVS, or Michaels will go to:
• The reader with the most number of donors supporting them.
• The reader with the most dollars raised.
