Censorship Is So 1984. Read for Your Rights.
We’re bringing the library to Clandestine Brewing in San José on Saturday, October 11th, 2025 for a special event wrapping up and celebrating the end of Banned Books Week (October 5-11, 2025), a national effort to defend books from censorship.
Grab a beer, chat with the community, and discover a new favorite from our curated display of banned and challenged books. Whether you’ve read them all or are curious to explore, this is your chance to sip, socialize, and stand up for the freedom to read. The event will also feature family-friendly activities, trivia, and a special book-themed art sale.
The art and book sale will take place all day from 12 to 10 PM with library-supported activities from 12 to 6 PM. Food truck at 4 PM.
No tickets or reservations required. Admission is free.
